Ruth has been playing the piano since she was seven years old when she commenced lessons with Beryl Crane in Preston.  She continued her studies at Arnold School in Blackpool and at the age of 18 trained under Una Bradbury, tutor at the Royal Northern College of Music.  She is the accompanist for Freckleton Singers and more recently Kirkham Singers.  As well as having a day job separate to music she accompanies vocalists and instrumentalists at the examinations for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and enjoys playing a wide variety of music.
